Hello everybody!

Just a few words to let you know what is going to happen in Santa Pola and its surrounding areas this month. For start, Santa Pola’s Town Hall offers its cultural programme for all tastes and you can check the whole programme on www.santapolaturismo.es

Apart from all this, on the 16th of July, the fishermen celebrate their main fiestas, “Our Lady of Carmen”. In the evening there is a religious procession and later on a display of fire works on Levante Beach will be held.

On the 7th the XXIV International Swimming Crossing Tabarca-Santa Pola will take place. It’s a real adventure for 1400 swimmers! This swimming crossing has become the most popular one in Spain; there are participants from 19 countries and of course from all over Spain!!!

In the surrounding areas plenty of parades of Moors and Christians are taking place. As you know it is not possible to give the exact dates but the approximate dates are as follows: Rojales, Orihuela 15th to 18th, Cox, Guardamar del Segura 20th to 25th, Albatera, Novelda 17th to 24th, Almoradi, Agost, 20th to 30th.

Also in Denia from the 6th to 14th we will celebrate the peculiar fiesta of “Bous a la Mar” – bulls to the sea. This fiesta is declared of international tourist interest. Furthermore, if you missed the spectacular Bonfires of St John go to San Vicente del Raspeig 19th to 22nd, you can have a sample of what it’s like.

Finally, in Torrevieja from 22nd to 28th – the International Contest of Habaneras & Polyphony is held. If you are fond of this type music, this is your festival.

The first week in August, we’ve got parade of Moors and Christians in Aspe.
