TRIP TO GRANADA

DAY 1: Early departure from GA and a stop at Puerto Lumbreras, where we met up with our guide from Viajes Mercurio. To our surprise, Juan invited us to wine, empanadas and cake, produced locally.

  • On our arrival in Granada, we went straight to lunch
  • Then some sightseeing in and around the Medina
  • Then back to the hotel for some rest and wine before dinner

DAY 2: Early Birds for breakfast at 07am and entering the bus for destination Las Alujarras. Reaching our goal Soportujar, at 952 moh, a town known for its Keltic inheritance of witchcraft.

For lunch we went to Canar and had a typical apujarran dish with ham, sausage, egg and potatoes.

After lunch we went back down the winding roads, towards Granada. The evening was wonderful, with a fiery flamenco show in a cave house in Sacramento and a night trip to Albaicin where we had a wonderful view of Alhambra

DAY 3: Some of us visited Alhambra; a beautiful Moorish/christian site.

We had a lovely time in the fairytail like city, and were so lucky with the weather. We left Granada at 15.00 in the afternoon, with many impressions, good food and drinks.

The bus ride home was long, but absolutely worth the ride. Again our excellent guide surprised us with ham and toast and win/water on our stop halfway home.
