MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN CLUB SECRETARY AND SOCIAL COMMITTE
CHAIRMAN
From the contacts I and other committee members have had in various forms, our members all appear to be safe and well, let’s hope it continues. From comments I have received from members by phone, email or meeting in the supermarket, it is the same message bored, frustrated, missing bowling. Also club social events and getting together socially at the club are been missed. It would appear we have all done the jobs we had put off doing for months.
The last couple of weeks have seen Jean and Rod celebrate their Golden Wedding with friends on House Party with John Hunt doing the same a few days later for his 65th birthday.
The lockdown meant we had to cancel the AGM and we were not able to complete our discussions concerning the future of the Club. As soon as the lockdown is lifted we hope to reach a agreement with the owner that we can recommend to the membership at a rearranged AGM.
We wish all our Sponsors well and hope they come through this difficult time with their business intact and we can start using them again.
Dave is running a weekly online quiz. Les has put Friends of Monte Mar on Facebook and keeps our website updated with news, which means you can keep in touch with other members.

CLUB SECRETARY
Well what strange times these are, all of our Social Events have been cancelled for the time and no bowls. How are we existing? I guess its with the odd glass of wine and lots of tele!!
One sad thing to come out of all of this is that we have had our Potters trip cancelled. For those that don’t know at Potters resort they have bowls, archery, tenpin bowling and lots of other sports. They also have very good entertainment in the evenings. Twenty three of us were looking forward to a fun five days. However, not to be.
Don’t forget all of you that were going you still have your deposit to be returned. This will be repaid as soon as the resort is allowed to reopen.
When we are back to bowling we will have a Chicken Run whatever time of the month it is – can’t wait!!

SOCIAL COMMITEE
Hola everyone, hope you are all well and staying safe. As you all know due to the current situation we had to cancel our Mother’s Day Lunch at La Cova in March also our April Dinner Show with the Elvis Tribute Act. We are hoping if all goes well Gary alias Elvis said he would come over later in the year, so that’s something to look forward to.
Regarding payments made to us for both cancelled events we will be refunding the full amount paid as soon as we are back up and running.
