We would like to thank the TOURISM COUNCILLOR for enabling Jose Manuel Blasco to join our magazines monthly column. Many of you will surely have met Jose at the Tourist Information Counter in Santa Pola. He always exudes enthusiasm for all that is happening in our area.
Here are his suggestions of
“Where to visit” and ‘What to see”
for this month
In February you can enjoy Moors and Christians parades in Bocairente from 3rd to 6th and in Sax from 1st to the 5th.
Another activity in February is Carnivals. All Towns along the Costa Blanca celebrate Carnivals, one of the best in the area is the one held in Torrevieja, and there are several other events too. There are two main carnival parades – first one is on Sunday 11th at 4:30p.m. and the second on Saturday the 17th at 9:00p.m.
About sports, if you’ve any friend or family that would like to join The Tabarca-Santa Pola Open Waters Swim you have to warn them that pre-registration process will be from 9th to 20th February.
Like every February do not miss the almond blossom in Jalon or Guadalest valleys.
But if you want to see something special go to see my favourite “El valle de la Seta” and enjoy the little villages of Famorca and Facheca. It could be beginning, middle or end of the month, but it lasts about ten days. I do not know what is going to happen this year but last year I spent a day out there and it really was wonderful, go and discover it by yourself.
Bye bye friends.
Jose Manuel Blasco
