On 28th November the bars of Sierra Mar held a Charity Christmas Coffee morning in aid of Elche Children’s Care home. Coordinated by Pam Hardy from Zest, the event included a raffle, tombolas, a variety of hand crafted Christmas decorations and a range of other gifts to purchase. Similar to previous years, the aim was to raise enough money to sponsor each child in the home a minimum of 30€ each. Whilst this was expected to difficult to achieve during these times, the support from the local community in the build up to and on the day of the event, was extraordinary. The target was surpassed, with over 1000€ being raised. There was a real community feel to the day and a sense that the year was ending on a positive note with hope for a better 2021.
Well done and thank you to all who attended or donated time, gifts and money.
