WHAT: In response to recent complaints about dog waste near Vicenta Ruso school in Gran Alacant and with Earth Day fast approaching, the Asociación de Propietarios de Mascotas (ASPETGA), pet owners association of Santa Pola and Gran Alacant, have joined forces with AMPA, the parent teacher association, and CEIP Vicenta Ruso to organize a Clean Up Day at the school for Friday, April 15th.
ASPETGA seeks to improve the quality of life for our four-footed friends and that includes addressing the problem of dog waste. Many dog owners are responsible and clean up but some of our neighbours whether through ignorance or willful noncompliance fail in fulfilling their responsibilities. We hope to raise awareness and set a good example.
In the week leading up to the Clean Up Day, teachers at Vicenta Ruso will speak to the children about taking care of the environment and animal welfare. The children will make posters and banners to raise awareness of the problems of dog waste and littering.
