We would like to thank the TOURISM COUNCILLOR for enabling Jose Manuel Blasco to join our magazines monthly column. Many of you will surely have met Jose at the Tourist Information Counter in Santa Pola. He always exudes enthusiasm for all that is happening in our area.

 

Hello everybody!

Just a few words to let you know what is going to happen this month in Santa Pola and its surroundings. To start Santa Pola’s Town Hall offers its cultural programme for all tastes you can check the all programme at www.santapolaturismo.es

Apart from all this, on the 16th the fishermen celebrate their main fiestas, “Our Lady of Carmen” in the evening there is a religious procession and later a display of fire works on the Levante Beach will be held.

On the 9th will take place the XXII International Swimming Crossing Tabarca-Santa Pola,
a real adventure for 1400 swimmers, this swimming crossing has become the most popular in Spain, there are participants from 14 countries and of course from all Spain.

In the surroundings, plenty of parades of Moors and Christians, as you know it is not possible to give the exact dates but the approximate dates are as follows: Rojales, Orihuela 15th to 21st, Cox, Guardamar del Segura 20th to 25th, Albatera, Novelda 19th to 25th, Almoradi and Agost 20th to 30th.

Also in Denia from 8th to 16th celebrate the peculiar fiesta of “Bous a la Mar” bulls to the sea, this fiesta is declared of international tourist interest. Furthermore if you missed the spectacular Bonfires of St John go to San Vicente del Raspeig 14th to 23rd, you can have a sample of what is like. Finally, in Torrevieja 17th to 23th the International Contest of Habaneras & Polyphony is held, if you a fond of this type music, this is your festival.
The first week in August, we’ve got parade of Moors and Christians in Aspe.
