In February you can enjoy Moors and Christians parades in Bocairente from 1st to 5th and in Sax from 1st to the 5th. I haven’t been able to find out the exact day and time for them, so if you need more information do please go to the Tourist Info.
Another activity in February are Carnivals! All towns along the Costa Blanca celebrate Carnivals! One of the best in this area is the one held in Torrevieja. There are two main carnival parades: first one is on Sunday 24th at 5:30p.m. and the second parade is on Saturday the 2nd March at 7:00p.m.
About sports, if you have any friend or family that would like to join The Tabarca-Santa Pola Open Waters Swim you have to warn them that pre-registration process will be from 8th to 19th February.
Like every February do not miss the almond blossom in Jalon or Guadalest valleys.
But if you want to see something special go to see my favourite “El valle de la Seta” and enjoy the little villages of Famorca and Facheca. It could be beginning, middle or the end of the month, but the blossom lasts about ten days.
Local people do not stop telling me that if I want to see it I have to do it as soon possible because they got a real problem up there. Almond trees are being attacked by a plague “Xylella Fastidiosa” and who knows … maybe in few years time we will not be able to enjoy this beauty anymore.
