VACANCIES – BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Do you have the time and experience to help Samaritans in Spain continue to grow to meet the increasing demand for its services?
An interesting and rewarding opportunity has now arisen for people with management experience to serve with the Board of Trustees of Samaritans in Spain. The Board of Trustees (the Board) manages and coordinates the operation of the charity, ensures compliance with policies and procedures and formulates and implements the strategic plans. The Board usually meets monthly and Trustees also regularly attend other charity events. Trustees also participate in management meetings and projects between formal boards. Samaritans in Spain has its headquarters in Punta Prima (Torrevieja).
Owing to resignations and a restructuring of the board there are currently three vacanciest. the first is is the area of Corporate Secretary a role that includes managing legal issues, compliance and corporate governance etc, the second is in the area of Support Services, a role that includes personnel, business development, adiminstration, marketing etc the third is in the area of Operations, a role that includes management of front line services such as our charity shop. But the precise role descriptions will be adjusted to suit the successful candidates and fit with the current responsibilities of the existing members of the Board.
Trustee positions are voluntary; only expenses are payable.
Applications are welcome from fluent English speakers of any nationality. Some Spanish language ability would be helpful. Own transport is essential.
