Playa Lisa/Tamarit Summer Festival

6-10 July 2017

The Neighbourhood Association in Playa Lisa and Tamarit, together with the Ayuntamiento Santa Pola and local Traders (Cafes, bars, restaurants etc) presented their annual festival on the avenidas of Lisa and Tamarit.

This was my first visit to the festival, preferring to go on Saturday evening to see the excellent Band – Black Knight, regulars at St Jaimes (Santa Pola) and the American Rock Bar (GA Commercial Centre).

The Festival took place on Avda’s Ronda, Virgen Pilar, Blasco Ibanez, and Calle Teruel where, throughout the 4 days of the festival there was an array of Fun Fair Rides for the children, Stalls, Kiosks and notably, bars and restaurants extending into the avda’s and calles. There was sufficient taking place to occupy the children and adults during the course of the days and evening. In fact, I enjoyed the whole experience. I do admire the local residents of Santa Pola who always seem to embrace their local festivals making them such enjoyable experiences. The avda’s were full of people making revelry, taking full advantage of the occasion.

One extra added delight was the walk back along Playa Lisa at 01.45am to collect my car (It was an alcohol free night in case you ask). The night was warm, but the bars and restaurants on the sea front were full with people relaxing and socialising in the cool of the night. The atmosphere was very welcoming and a mental note was made to return to Playa Lisa as soon as possible to sample the experience.
