Reopening of the Club
Monday 21st April – After all the hard work everyone was looking forward to the club reopening. Before the bowling began Chris Harding the chairman thanked everyone who had been involved with the preparation for the new carpet. Len Counsel a founder member delivered the first bowl then the morning’s competition began.
Chicken Run
Sunday 27th April – The April chicken run was extra special as it was twenty years since the club opened. After the first nine ends the celebrations began, we all enjoyed a glass or two of cava supplied by Ian and Julia Hamilton. The chickens were won by Gina Hindle with thirty shots and Paul Dodd with thirty one shots. Thank you to Steve Leatherland and Jan Leonard who sponsored the chickens.
The eggs were won by Sarah for the ladies and Steve Leatherland for the men, thank you to Ian and Julia Hamilton who sponsored the eggs – not forgetting the chickens. The football card was won by Chris Harding with Watford. To finish the celebrations we all enjoyed a lovely lunch at Sumire Asiatic Restaurant.
Competitions
As we haven’t entered the summer league we are running internal competitions on a Monday and Friday. Mondays – Monte v Mar, Fridays – Super 6.
Champion of Champions
Well done to Neil Crawford who got through to the finals in the Champions of Champions.
In memory of Tony Finan
Tony had been a member for a number of years before returning to the UK. He sadly passed away in April.
