HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM MONTE MAR BOWLS CLUB!
VISITING TEAM
Saturday 15th – Sunday 17th November
Another very enjoyable weekend bowling with the members from Middleton Hall Bowls Club. It was lovely to see them all again, and there were a few new faces this year. After the match on the Saturday we had a evening meal at Sumire Restaurant followed by drinks and plenty of friendly banter. After playing the second game on the Sunday the winners were Monte Mar. Its not really about winning its the taking part and enjoying the time with the visitors from Middleton Hall. Thank you to Cindy for organising a very enjoyable weekend.
CHICKEN RUN
Sunday 23rd November
The November chicken run was well supported with all the rinks been used. Thank you to Sally and Steve who sponsored the chickens, Ian and Julia Hamilton for the eggs, and of coarse the hens. The chickens were won by Sally with twenty eight shots and Alan with also twenty eight shots. Maz and Jim won the eggs. Cindy won the football card with Manchester United. Thanks to Sue, Joan and Howie for organising the chicken run and and all who took part making it another great club day.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH
Sunday 7th December
For the annual pre Christmas lunch this year we went to the Sumire restaurant. The Chairman Chris Harding thanked everyone for all the work they did at the club before and after the new carpet was fitted, we all then had a few glasses of cava. It was a lovely afternoon which everyone seemed to enjoy, the company was good, food delicious what more could we want.
TURKEY CHASE
Sunday 14th December
The weather was kind to us so the annual turkey chase thankfully went ahead. It was as as usual well supported and a great success. The turkeys were won by David Marsh and Linda Davies, the eggs by Maz Marsh and Jim Shearing. Thank you to Chris, Joan, Sue and Les who sponsored the turkeys and the eggs. After the game the raffle was drawn, first hamper was won by Lynne Armitage, second Paul Dodd, third Gina Hindle, followed by numerous other prizes. Chairman Chris Harding thanked Heidi, Viv and Janet for doing the hampers and everyone else who helped and donated to the raffle. Chris also thanked Howie, Sue and Joan for organising the chicken run all year which has been very succsessful. Janet Parker won the football card with Manchester City.
