Pat Groves

In the February edition of the GA Advertiser we reported that Pat Groves, a long time member of the Monte Mar Bowls and Social Club was still in hospital following a fall and subsequent treatment. We are now happy to advise that Pat has now been transferred to Leeds to be near to her family. Although she is still in medical care she is more content being closer to her sons. All at the Bowls Club and the Quizzers from LoungeD hope that her condition continues to improve and wish her all the best for the future.

We entertained Moonfleet Bowls Club touring team from Weymouth. The weather was overcast with some light rain at times but it did not deter us from having a very friendly and enjoyable morning playing six games of rinks. Monte Mar had a good result but as always the scores really don’t matter on these sort of occasions, as everyone involved had a excellent mornings bowling. It was lovely to see our old friends Sandra and Terry Errington again. Terry was once Monte Mar Captain before moving back to the UK, so having them both play at our club again made it a very special occasion for all of us. Afterwards we all enjoyed a meal and a few drinks in the Rincon Restaurant, which rounded off the day perfectly.
