Laurie settled in Gran Alacant a year ago and is one of our newer advertisers in the Gran Alacant Advertiser. She is a massage therapist who offers a wide variety of treatments.

LAURIE: “Having settled for a year in Gran Alacant, a charming sun-drenched town on the Spanish coast, I savour every day the sweetness of this new chapter in my life. After years spent in France in the corporate world, where the relentless race for more took precedence over what truly matters, I felt a deep need to give my life a more authentic meaning.

A devotee of yoga and physical and spiritual well-being, I decided to change careers seven years ago. I then earned a diploma in Sophrology, a gentle method that helps release negative tensions such as stress by promoting smooth breathing. It improves, among other things, the quality of sleep and allows one to approach life in a more positive way.

To deepen my treatments and better support my clients, I trained in various massage techniques. Body massage first (our home), with therapeutic treatments related to physical issues such as lymphatic drainage, or simply relaxing massages for a pure moment of relaxation.

My method is not limited to a simple massage. It adopts a holistic approach, taking into account the physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of each individual. By working on the body, I help release muscular tension and promote emotional balance and the connection between body and mind.

I also practice “Kobido,” a specific facial massage. It is anti-wrinkle, a true natural manual facelift. It restores radiance to the face with a real anti-aging effect and overall well-being.

To complement my skills and better support my clients, I use high-quality essential oils. They are true allies for natural health. Essential oils enhance the effectiveness of massages and bring daily well-being.

All these fields fascinate me. I love bringing relief, peace, and harmony to those in need. The benefits are immediate, the relaxation palpable, and the positive feedback from my clients is a constant source of satisfaction. Being able to contribute to the well-being of others is a profound reason that fully justifies this life choice.

I offer my massages in a warm space that I have carefully arranged where every detail is designed to create a soothing and welcoming atmosphere. I also make house calls, thus offering everyone the possibility to benefit from personalized treatments in the comfort of their own environment. This flexibility is essential to meet the varied needs of my clientele.

However, becoming an entrepreneur in a foreign country is not without challenges. The language barrier, administrative and cultural differences, as well as the need to establish a new clientele require a lot of personal investment and perseverance. Every day brings its share of obstacles but also satisfactions. This journey is a rewarding adventure that pushes me to grow and adapt.

Choosing Gran Alacant as my new home was a carefully considered decision. The living environment, quality of life, friendliness of the locals—all contribute to making this place a true haven of peace. The ever-present sun plays a significant role in my personal and professional balance. It brightens my days and fuels my positive energy.

In short, this past year here has confirmed that I made the right choice. The transition to therapeutic care and well-being is a meaningful human adventure.
