Hi everybody,

In December we will have parades of Moors and Christians held in Alicante and in Monforte del Cid from 5th to 9th. There are two main parades – one at night and the other one at midday, followed by fireworks on the last day.

In Santa Pola, like every year, we will celebrate on December the 10th at about 8p.m. in the harbour area the arrival of our Madonna Virgin de Loreto. There will be a little performance about the arrival and then procession from the harbour to the Castle.

On the 14th of December Santa Pola Tourist Department organizes once again a guided tour in English to the Salt Museum. This tour is very popular and booking in advance is required.

Local fiestas are also held in Alfaz del Pi, Agost and Callosa d’En Sarria. Pilgrimages are taking place in Denia and Sella. Also, please do not forget the spectacular “battle of flour” which takes place in Ibi, “Els Enfarinats” on the 28th.

The pilgrimage “Venida de la Virgen” will also take place on December 28th. The pilgrimage stars on Tamarit beach with a representation of the arrival and discovering the Madonna of Elche.

This month all concerts and cultural events will be held in the bib tent outside the Fortress-Castle.

A little parade will be held on 24th of December. The biggest parade will be held on the 5th of January “The Three Kings” Parade.” The best one of these parades is the one held in Alcoy, it’s simply magical!

I would like to make a special mention of the most important sport event held in Santa Pola – the International Santa Pola Half Marathon held on the 21st of January at 10:30 a.m.. Come and enjoy this fantastic event!

¡Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2019 to all of you!
