After Easter Week, there will be parades of Moors and Christians in Petrer from 11th to 15th and in Salinas from 26 to 30th.
Biar – my favourite, little, beautiful village celebrates its parade on the 10th of May. Like every year, many things happen on this day. First the parade of Moors and Christians, then a little later, they make fires on the surrounding hills and finish with fireworks. The final act on this day is to attend the main church to see what happens in there.
Also, there are other specials events like the one held in Torrevieja 10th of May to 14th called “Feria de Mayo” or in Monforte del Cid – Orito another popular pilgrimage called “Romería de San Pascual”.
Also “Las Cruces de Mayo” – “Cross of May”. Crosses are made with flowers in many squares in different towns and villages in the Costa Blanca.
On the 18th there is the whole day with a guided tour in English to the Salt Museum in the morning and Aquarium and fish auction in the afternoon. It’s vital to register at least one day in advance at Tourist info offices – please phone 966 696 052 to book your tickets. From 2nd to 4th June – there is an International Karate Tournament held in Santa Pola.
