Peter and Karen Snazell proprietors of CUTS R US Barber Shop and Ladies Hairstylists, Avenida De Londres, Urbanisation La Marina. Here is their journey to Spain ….
We have been in Spain since December 2007 the salon opened December 14th 2007 and has grown into a thriving business through hard work and commitment. We were both born in Suffolk Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich respectively, although 15 years apart we also both went to college in Ipswich and were both taught by the same tutor in some of our courses. Peter started his training in 1964 in a salon in Bury St Edmunds doing day release at college, Karen started a full-time course in 1980 training as a Ladies hairdresser and doing a separate barbering course.

Peter moved to a salon in Mildenhall after his training in 1966 and worked with several Greek barbers. Karen joined the same salon in 1982, they have worked together ever since. In 1991 we opened our first salon and within 10 years we had four salons and employed 29 staff with us both working full time as well. In that time, we have trained Peters eldest son and his wife to be barbers and they now have 3 salons one

of which they purchased of us in 2013 at mate’s rates though.
Peter has 2 sons from his first marriage they are both now married and have 2 children each one has 2 girls the other has 2 boys. Up until last year Peter was a keen runner, running the New York Marathon in 1999 and running 2 Santa Pola half marathons since we have been here.
Unfortunately, he now has a knee injury so can no longer run but has now taken up cycling which is keeping him fit. Karen has not had children but helped to bring up Peter’s sons and 
grandchildren, in my younger days I swam for Ipswich, Woodbridge, and Suffolk. I worked a as lifeguard at the local swimming pool in Ipswich before moving to Bury St Edmunds and working in Mildenhall where I met Peter and the rest is history.
We met Barry and Sandra, the previous owners of the magazine at La Marina market and we have been with the magazine ever since.
